Max Bickerton Seminar & Eco-Workshop

Max Bickerton Seminar & Eco-Workshop

Ecological BJJ Workshop with Max Bickerton – Redesign your Training

In our workshop with Max Bickerton, everything revolves around modern, game-based learning on the mat. Instead of classic technique drills, we focus on so-called “games” – specific play situations that challenge certain movements, reactions, and decisions in grappling.

The foundation for this is Ecological Dynamics – an approach that sees fighters not as technique storage units but as active problem-solvers – and the Constraint-Led Approach (CLA), where we influence the learning process through specifically set parameters (so-called constraints) without prescribing exact movements.

What can you expect in the workshop?

We begin with an intensive two-hour seminar with Max Bickerton, where you can experience the ecological approach directly on the mat. Afterwards, Chris and Belami will show you how to develop, adapt, and analyze training games yourself. In small groups, you’ll design your own games, test them live, and receive direct feedback – all practical, concrete, and open to exchange.

Our Schedule:

  • 10:00–12:00 – Seminar with Max Bickerton

  • 12:00–13:30 – Break

  • 13:30–16:00 – Rethinking training: Developing & experiencing games (with Chris and Belami)

  • 16:00–17:00 – Open Mat

Who is this for?
The workshop is aimed at both coaches and ambitious students. Our goal: to show you how to recognize good games, how to develop your own – and how to make your training more targeted and effective. Those who understand how learning really works not only train better – but also progress faster and stick with it more joyfully.
